Knight of the Robots

A retro-styled flash game, played entirely with the mouse. Move the mouse to direct the Martin the Adventurer, and click to attack the oncoming robots.

This was originally intended to become a point-and-click platformer game (which would still be cool to do) but the pointer-based movement wasn’t cooperating with the scrolling level, so I restructured it into a single-screen game with a ceaseless onslaught of enemies. The faster pace initiated the change to a more flowy, almost arkanoid-like method of control. I’m pleased with the sense of inertia the hero has as he slides around (he’s wearing hover-boots, if you were wondering). Programmed using Actionscript 3.0, and the graphics were made in photoshop at tiny pixel-by-pixel sizes, then blown up with “nearest neighbor” scaling to preserve the 8-bit look.
